After ten years in Germany, Daniel returns to his home island of Gran Canaria to mediate the sale of a piece of land between a group of German investors \u2014to whom he owes money\u2014 and Siberiano, an old farmer in the twilight of his life.
Upon his return, he begins to perceive the profound changes the island has undergone during his absence: mass tourism has transformed the landscape and exhausted the territory\u2019s resources; as a result, the island\u2019s identity is fading away.
