Given the high level of competition in the industry and the significant volume of films produced each year, it is necessary to stop and think prior to distributing a new piece of work. At our market, we champion the diversity of perspectives (both in terms of geographic origin and gender balance within the projects), and that is why we propose the development of a strategic plan, starting with the analysis provided by expert advisors who attend this international yearly on the island of Tenerife.

It’s been absolutely fantastic to join Miradas Afroindigenas in Puerto de la Cruz. Coming from Italy, it’s been the unique opportunity and perfect place for me to connect with filmmakers, producers and broadcasters form the iberoamerican and African world. Pitches were extremely high standard, and the many occasions to enter in dialogue with participants were highly appreciated. I can feel that there is a great potential for cooperation with Italy. I would like to express my profound gratitude to the organizers and funders, for the generous hospitality and the wonderful organisation.
The world needs help; we need to share knowledge about what's happening in remote corners of the world and what's important. I have a lot of inspiration for sourcing documentaries from far away. It's a bit like a breath of fresh wind and at the same time opening to the world. Miradas Afroindigenes was a very inspiring, professional meeting for me

Este Festival tiene un efecto que no es fácil encontrar: te reconcilia con la profesión. The event offered a great opportunity to explore diverse perspectives from Latin America and Africa while enjoying the perpetual warmth of Tenerife.
