Presentation
DOCanarias seeks a contemporary perspective on non-fiction cinema, to open up new ways of viewing reality in all its complexity. Films that allow us to ask questions, appeal to our curiosity and engage our intelligence—a sensitive and empathetic intelligence. Films that encourage us to take an active role and break away from the media’s singular, individualising narrative. Taking a seat in the cinema at our festival means participating in an experience that reconnects us with the collective, with curiosity about others and with what unites us.
