DOCanarias Market will take place in person in Puerto de la Cruz (Tenerife) from February 2 to 4, 2027, as part of the DOCanarias International Film Festival.

DOCanarias Market is an essential gathering place for documentary professionals, featuring workshops, conferences, screenings, and days of informal meetings between commissioning editors and buyers from television channels, streaming platforms, festivals, and public and private institutions.

The DOCanarias Market team is made up of filmmakers, producers, distributors, and international sales agents with extensive experience in organizing and participating in international forums for the documentary film industry, working directly with decision-makers such as:

Al Jazeera, Arte TV, BBC, Deutsche Welle, RTVE, Filmin, The New York Times, the Berlinale World Cinema Fund, the Hot Docs Blue Ice Docs Fund, the IDFA Bertha Fund, Cannes Docs, Sunny Side of the Doc, the PiXii Festival, Visions du Réel, among others.a

Who is this call for applications intended for?

Filmmakers from anywhere in the world with documentary projects that tell stories about countries in the Global South or are produced and/or directed in those countries.

Stories about countries in Latin America and Africa, and/or those filmed in these countries, will be given special consideration, as will those that address indigenous issues.
